Anonymous asked: All my friends, both guitarists and bassists, know all these technical stuff about their respective instruments, like the wood type, what pick ups do what, which are good, what amps are good, what about those amps are good, string tension, and all that stuff. I know stuff like this exists for Drummers as well. Ive been playing for 7 years and I have yet to acquire any technical knowledge of drums. Is there a way to start? if that makes sense? :D

I’m basically in a similar boat with you, you mean knowledge about different types of drums, companies ect? the problem for drummers is we only need one set and it usually will cost us a lot so we don’t try out a bunch of different ones. the best way to learn though is to just do some research online, talk to other drummers who may know a thing or two. try and play on different types of kits and notice what exactly you’re playing. if you can take a trip down to the local music shop, those guys are paid to know this shit. Great question hope i was some help
