I’ve actually been in that exact situation. a couple years ago I decided to learn to play bass, as long as you truly do enjoy playing drums nothing can put you off of them. as for managing the two, it’s possible but you need to keep on top of your practicing. also for me playing bass actually made me a better drummer, because it made me more aware of other dynamics in the band and how to react to them
